Why hire a tax attorney?

Your business is different, and your tax picture probably is too. Alloy Legal understands tax law holistically, and can handle planning, dispute avoidance or resolution and negotiations. From starting your business or personal tax strategy off on the right foot, to managing the unexpected, Alloy Legal can provide you with solid advice that’s protected by attorney client privilege.

Focus Areas

Intrastate and international tax compliance

If you’re earning income or hold financial assets in more than one tax jurisdiction, your tax picture can start to look complex. Alloy Legal can ensure that you’re correctly reporting income without overpaying.

Non-traditional Income Sources

If you’re a freelancer, creator, entertainer or athlete, you probably aren’t paid on a W-2 so your tax filing is more complicated than it would be if you were an employee. Alloy Legal can prepare and implement a tax strategy that’s optimized for you.

Business formation and contract drafting

Starting a business, or taking your hobby to the next level means filing legal paperwork and creating contracts that protect you, your partners and your clients. Alloy Legal will handle that while you focus on what you do best.

Accounting best practices and tax filings

Once your business is up and running, an Alloy Legal-developed accounting strategy can ensure that your business stays tax compliant so there are no surprises at tax time.

IRS and State tax controversy

If you receive a letter from a tax authority, an audit request, or have balance due, don’t panic. Alloy Legal has years of experience working with the IRS and state tax authorities to work through situations just like yours with offers in compromise, installment agreements, and in some cases, collection holds.

Foreign financial assets

If you have financial assets outside of the United States, Alloy Legal will facilitate their disclosure to relevant tax authorities while working to minimize your exposure.

FOUNDER + OWNER

Christina Carroll

After spending years advising major corporations, executives and other wealthy individuals, I founded Alloy Legal to provide those same services to everyone, without the usual barriers.

Prior to founding Alloy Legal, I worked at a "Big Four" accounting firm, specializing in the cross-border taxation of individuals. I prepared tax returns for foreign national and expatriate employees of large multinational companies focusing on avoiding double taxation. I also advised business clients with mobile employees and regularly represented taxpayers before tax authorities to request penalty abatements and handle audit requests.

Before that I practiced in a boutique law firm, primarily facilitating voluntary disclosures of offshore financial assets to the United States. I also successfully represented businesses and individuals in controversy with the IRS and state and local tax jurisdictions.

I formed Alloy Legal because whether you’re a creator, entertainer, expat or athlete; or if you’re just starting your own thing, everybody deserves the peace of mind that comes with solid advice.
